About DC Arts Center (DCAC)

2438 18th Street, NW 20009

The District of Columbia Arts Center (DCAC) is located in Adams Morgan. With a 750 square foot gallery and a 50 seat black box theater DCAC provides a professional venue for visual and theater artists, and provides structured programs through which artists in all media can practice both the craft and business of art. Please be aware the space is on the second floor and is currently not wheelchair accessible. In between classes hang out and meet some of the artists in the first exhibition of the DC Arts Center’s resident collective Sparkplug, part of an ongoing pursuit of adventures beyond the commercial gallery system. Sparkplug is a gathering of a dozen or so Washington, DC metro area emerging artists, curators and writers that meet once a month to discuss their work, explore common concerns and ideas, grow their community, and dream up creative engagements both in DC and around the globe.
